Moonlit Meadows is happy to be a source of information and education!
Last week, I, Mandi, was honored to attend the Denmark FFA Alumni annual appreciation banquet held at Beverly Gardens in our home town of Eaton, WI. There, I was awarded with a placque that reads: "In deep appreciation for your many hours of instruction and sharing of skills for the advancement of agriculture and equine science."
During the school year, I was honored to be co-teacher for the equine science program in the Denmark High School. Each week, a class full of students came to Moonlit Meadows where I was able to instruct them on the care, safe handling, grooming, feeding and tacking of horses. I explained how the equine industry accounts for over $52 billion in U.S. economy. I hope to see some of those students further their equine education and possibly meet up with them in the horse world someday!
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time with the students and my co-teacher, Diane Fischl. It was hard to see the class end after a short few months. I look forward to working with the Denmark High School in the future to offer this Equine Science class.
I have also spoken with some home-school parents, and may be able to get a class together for them. Fingers crossed...
Coming events: Moonlit Meadows will host a "play day" with reining help & cattle work on May 2 from 10-3. Please check our web site for more info. www.moonlitmeadows.net
